The cycle of round mosaics is united by the idea to disclose natural beauty of amber by means of images of young women, flowers and birds. A circle – the most suitable figure where natural motives and images of people organically fit in, – symbolizes completeness and laconicism of illustrative language and the decorative effect of receptions excludes redundancy. The circle as a symbol of perfection and self-sufficiency focuses attention of the viewer on a mosaic plot, and natural natural forms – flowers, fruits, roundish bends of a body, – create harmonious compositions. The scope of mosaic works is caused also by the fact that symbols of the sun, life, light, cyclic repetition of seasons, time of day, the movement and development of the nature, unity and the consent of the person and the world around are connected with a circle.
Art effects of depth and naturalness of images are reached due to use of a stone different in structure – transparent, white, opaque, translucent and also due to inclusion in a mosaic of details from valuable breeds of a tree (such as nut, black rosewood, mahogany and so forth) and a mammoth tusk. For strengthening of art expressiveness amber kolorirutsya (is painted). The way of coloring of amber has been developed in the 1980th with direct participation of Alexander Zhuravlev – the founder of a creative workshop and was used at reconstruction of decorative furniture of the Amber room. The technology of a kolorirovaniye allows to expand a color palette of amber and to vary his shades for giving to plots of mosaics of bigger showiness.
The frame of work can be made of natural wood of valuable breeds, fabric (a velvet, silk), a decorative cardboard with a pattern or a covering from a potala (artificial gilding) of different colors and textures.
